Keyword Targeting Syntax Reference

Fuzzy Matching

The algorithm used to match keywords and phrases is case insensitive and uses a two-way fuzzy search. This means that Jack and Jill will match jack and jill and book will match books, bookkeeper, or bookstore because they all contain the word book. Because the fuzzy search is two-way, bookkeeper will also match book, but it will not match books or bookstore because they are not contained in the word bookkeeper.

Exact Matching

If you would prefer not to allow fuzzy search matches, simply place double quotes around each of your keywords or phrases to require an exact match.

Require/Exclude

If you want to forcibly require keywords or phrases be present, they should be prefixed with a plus (+) symbol. On the other hand if you want to forcibly exclude keywords or phrases from being present they should be prefixed with a minus (-) symbol. In either case, the plus or minus symbol should be outside of the double quotes if the keyword or phrase is quoted.

Occurrences

You may also specify that a keyword or phrase occur a minimum number of times in full-text content by appending =n to the end of it where n is the minimum number of occurrences.
