This user manual assumes that you are comfortable with authoring web pages using HTML and graphics in GIF, JPG, or PNG format. Knowledge of specific HTML syntax is not required, but you should at least know how to copy and paste HTML code into your web pages with the authoring tool of your choice. Some familiarity with other web page related technologies such as CSS and Adobe Flash is also suggested.
Throughout this user manual, you will see references to the following components:
For the context of this user manual, you need only concern yourself with the high-level functions of these components. The control panel is the user interface that you will use to create and manage your ads, generate reports, perform maintenance tasks, and so on. The ad server primarily selects and displays your ads on your web site, but also processes click-throughs and actions generated by your web site visitors. Finally, the file server is responsible for actually delivering the graphic or video media files for your ads to your web site visitors.
When you first access the control panel, you will be presented with a login screen that looks like the picture below. This screen simply prompts you to enter your username, password, and role.
The basic layout of the user interface is shown in the following picture.
You will notice that each of the primary components of the user interface have been numbered in the picture above. A short description of each of these components follows:
