AdvertServe Q4/2016 Update

AdvertServe Q4/2016 Update

We are pleased to announce that the AdvertServe Q4/2016 update has been deployed!

Have you been itching to incorporate video into your advertising strategy? We have good news for you. This update is all about video, video and more video!

Video Hosting and Encoding

AdvertServe now supports hosting and encoding of videos. It is possible to upload raw video files of any size in 3GP, F4V, FLV, M4V, MOV, MP4, MPG or WMV formats. From there we automatically take care of encoding the video and uploading it to our premium CDN. Our encoder uses the H.264 main profile and it outputs up to 720p HD video with double-pass rendering for optimal quality and smooth playback. Meaning you can take a video directly from your advertisers, upload it and within a few minutes it will be ready for Flash or HTML5 streaming.

In-Banner Videos

We have added a new Video Banner media type that allows you to rapidly create great looking in-banner videos that play seamlessly across both desktop and mobile platforms. The options range from a standalone video to an enhanced video with a background image and call to action button. How about reporting? As you would expect we can track views and clicks. However, we can also track the number of times videos are played, the percentage of viewers that watched 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of the videos and more!

Pushdown Banners with Video

It is now also possible to enhance pushdown banners by adding a video to them, which is a great way to increase their impact.

VAST 3.0

Upgrading your VAST tags to version 3.0 will enable you to use new VAST features such as skippable ads and ad pods to play a sequence of multiple ads in a single ad break.

VPAID 2.0

We now support hosting VPAID 2.0 creatives, which makes it possible to display interactive HTML5 ads with VAST 2.0 and 3.0 video players that support the VPAID 2.0 JavaScript API.

Questions?

We'd love to hear from you. Seriously, don't hesitate to contact support if you have questions about any of the new features and improvements.
